RAINFOREST BALL
Every year, we host the Rainforest Ball together with the Cross River Gorilla Project. The charity event raises awareness and donations for the endangered Cross River Gorilla and the critical situation around the Lebialem Highland region in Cameroon.
This year’s ball took place at the breath-taking Kew Gardens in London with lovely guests including Hugo Taylor and Millie Mackintosh, diplomats of the High Commissioner of the Commonwealth of Cameroon and the British Foreign Office, Environment and Rural Development Foundation (ERuDeF) representative and winner of the prestigious Whitley Award for conservation Louis Nkembi and chair of the Cross River Gorilla Project John Daniels.
SALOME founder Kellie Daniels was honoured during the event for her endless efforts as a trustee and board member of the CRGP and donated our Lebialem Highland collection for the silent auction of the evening to theCRGP to facilitate their conservation efforts. Moreover, we announced our first Women’s Empowerment Award during the Rainforest Ball.
To make this event possible, we collaborated with the Newcastle University and its Media Department. Eight students were taken on as interns and helped with everything from event planning to social media publications before, during and after this successful night.
